Sports facility overview

Sagamihara Asamizo Park Stadium was opened in 2007 and has received Class 2 certification from the Japan Association of Athletics Federations.

There is a 9-lane, 400 m all-weather track and a natural turf infield on which soccer and rugby games can be held. In addition, an indoor practice track that can be used even during rainy weather runs underneath the 3,500 seat back stand. The roofed main stand can seat up to 2,800, and beneath it on the first floor, the facility is equipped with changing rooms, shower rooms, meeting rooms (which double as central coordination offices during athletic meets), a broadcasting room, and a medical room.

Aside from regional-level (Kanto) athletic meets, national level soccer and rugby matches have also been held here. Additionally, the stadium serves as a home ground for local teams in the Soccer J-League and Women's soccer Nadeshiko League.

The neighbouring Sagamihara Asamizo Park Secondary Stadium, which was opened in 2014, has level 4 accreditation from the Japan Association of Athletics Federations. It functions as a supplementary field for the main stadium. The field is equipped with a 6-lane, 400 m track and an artificial turf infield also suitable for throwing events.

Sagamihara City General Swimming Pool (Sagamihara Green Pool)

Sagamihara City General Swimming Pool (Sagamihara Green Pool) is approximately 40 km away from the Olympic Village and is easily accessible from major cities in the Greater Tokyo Area, as well as from Haneda and Narita Airport.
In addition to the Japan Swimming Federation Internationally Accredited main pool and diving pool, the facility is equipped with a 25 m sub pool. Administrative rooms are built compactly around the main pool and there is direct access between the main and sub pools. In fact, Sagamihara Green Pool boasts a long history of holding national-level aquatics events in competitive swimming, diving, and water polo, including the Japan Championships and the Japan Open.
Aside from the pools, the facility also has a training room, a studio, and a kitchen, and is well equipped as a pre-games campsites.
Sagamihara Green Pool is located inside the verdant Yokoyama Park. The park is also equipped with tennis courts, baseball stadium and field with artificial turf.
