Bibai is located almost exactly at the midpoint between Sapporo and Asahikawa, Hokkaido's two largest cities.

The Hokkaido Expressway Interchange is located nearby, National Route 12 and trains that connect Sapporo and Asahikawa run through the city centre, and Bibai Station has limited express trains leaving every 30 minutes. Convenient by car or train, the city is highly accessible.

In Bibai, you can enjoy distinct changes in the weather with each passing season. Spring and autumn have refreshingly cool days, while summer has nice warm days with highs sometimes reaching about 30 degrees , but even then the low humidity keeps every day feeling pleasant. Winter turns Bibai into a winter wonderland where you can ski and snowboard to your heart's content on the best quality of powder snow.

Earthquakes, typhoons and other natural disasters rarely occur. It is a city with an abundance of nature, where the eastern part of the city offers a view of hills and mountains, while the west offers widely opened countryside and farmlands.
