Tokushima Prefecture is located in the eastern part of the island of Shikoku, and is bordered by the Kii Channel to the east. Tokushima's major tourist attractions include the Naruto whirlpools and the Vine Bridges of the Iya Valley.

Tokushima is rich in traditional culture; its famous traditional parformance art includes the Awa Dance (Awa Odori) and Awa Ningyo Joruri Puppet Theater. Some of the famous traditional crafts include indigo dye. The area is also home to the Otani Pottery.

Tokushima is generally warm, and there is little snow, except the area west of Tokushima, where much of the land is mountainous. Furthermore, the temperature rarely drops below freezing. The overall climatic condition in Tokushima is very fine generally.

Blessed with the natural bounty from both the mountains and the sea, Tokushima is a treasure house of delicious and nutritious food. It has everything from specialty products such as Naruto sea bream, Awa chicken, Sudachi citrus and Wakame seaweed, and also you can have a wide choice of vegetables.

The Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage connects 88 temples across Shikoku, and Tokushima is home to the first few temples, making it the starting place of the pilgrimage. As Tokushima has been welcoming pilgrims for many years, it has fostered a sense of genuine hospitality. All visitors to Tokushima are welcomed warmly, and are cared about well. As an example of this custom, during the Tokushima Marathon, held every spring, over 3,000 marathon volunteers give support and encourage runners.

For those coming from the Kanto region via plane, it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes from Haneda Airport. From the Kansai region, it takes 2 hours by highway bus.

With its mild climate, nutritious and delicious food, warm hospitality and easily accessible location, Tokushima is the ideal location for pre-games preparation camps.
