Tsukubamirai city, with a population of 50,000, covers an area of 79.16 square kilometres and is located in the southern part of Ibaraki prefecture. It is located within 40 kilometres of the centre of Tokyo. You can come and go within Tsukubamirai and Tokyo very conveniently by using the Joban Expressway and the Metropolitan Intercity Expressway by car. You can also use the Tsukuba Express railway, therefore Tsukubamirai city is convenient in the case of transportation.

Moreover, Tsukubamirai city is blessed with a rich natural environment, such as two big rivers, Kinu and Kokai river. Along the Kokai river, there are many paddies that produce good rice.
