A metropolis in Japan

Osaka is a metropolis in Japan with about 8.8 million residents and over 5 million foreign tourists annually. Since ancient times Osaka has flourished as a location where different people and cultures thrive together. These days, Kansai International Airport acts as a gateway welcoming many visitors every day.

International sporting events

International sporting events such as track and field, swimming, tennis, and bicycle races have been held in Osaka. Higashiosaka Hanazono Rugby Stadium, the holy ground of Japanese rugby, is one of the venues for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. “The Grand Sumo Tournament” where the traditional Japanese sport sumo is played, and Japan Para Swimming Championships also have a long history of being held in Osaka.

Three reasons of a training camp site

Osaka also serves as a training camp site for the US athletics team, the Japan National Football Team, as well as swimming teams from South Africa, Great Britain, and Japan.

There are three reasons why Osaka is such a popular location for international sporting events and training camps:

  1. The ideal environment. Osaka has world-class stadiums, an excellent track record of hosting international events and serving as a training camp site, as well as having well-equipped training facilities.

  2. Convenient access from both inside and outside Japan. From Kansai International Airport, which is open 24 hours a day, it takes about one hour and 20 minutes to Narita Airport in Tokyo, and less than one hour to the center of Osaka. Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe are approximately one-hour away from the center of Osaka.

  3. Welcoming international visitors with an All-Osakan hospitality. Osaka has a lot of international chain hotels. You can enjoy visiting tourist spots like a famous movie theme park, go shopping, visit temples and shrines, experience natural landscapes, cultural experiences, delicious food and so on.

Please be sure to visit Osaka. We can’t wait to see you.
